Located in the east of Santa Catarina Island, between the neighborhoods of Barra da Lagoa and Ingleses, the São João do Rio Vermelho neighborhood offers a lot of tranquility and exuberant nature to its residents. The neighborhood is approximately 29 km from downtown Florianópolis and 42 km from the airport.
Popularly called Rio Vermelho, it is a region that has been modernizing with the emergence of urbanized areas and several horizontal condominiums, which represent an excellent investment opportunity, taking into account the most affordable price per square meter in the region.
With its rural historical characteristics, the neighborhood grew close to the church and cemetery in the region, in the locality called Freguesia, but today it includes other localities such as Travessão, Muquém, Porto, Mozambique and the Parque Florestal do Rio Vermelho. The main shops and the houses of traditional families are concentrated along the Rodovia João Gualberto Soares and in the small streets, servitudes. The Red River covers an area of 31.68 km² and an estimated population of over 15,000 inhabitants.
To the north of the neighborhood, less than 10 km away, residents find many shops and services in Ingleses, a neighboring neighborhood that houses large supermarkets, shops, schools and health centers. Access to other northern beaches is also quick, as is SC 401, where many technology companies are established, and ACATE, the Santa Catarina Association of Technology Companies.
Close by is Santinho beach, where you will find one of the best Brazilian resorts, Costão do Santinho with several options for activities including a golf course. In the south direction, we have many options for outdoor leisure, as the neighborhood has direct access to the wonderful Praia do Moçambique and the incredible Parque Florestal do Rio Vermelho.
Praia do Moçambique has 13,500 meters of fine white sand, with blue sea and waves for surfing. It extends from Barra da Lagoa to Ponta das Aranhas, being the longest beach in Santa Catarina Island. The Forest Park, on the other hand, is a permanent preservation area with more than 1100 hectares, formed by a pine forest, the site presents a diversity of systems: flooded areas with mangrove vegetation, native vegetation massifs, mobile dunes, exotic forests and dunes fixed.
