Córrego Grande is a residential neighborhood with a strategic location, as it is located between the Pantanal, Trindade, Santa Monica and Itacorubi neighborhoods. Living in this region allows you to have quick access to the avenues that lead to the city center and also to the other north, east and south regions of Ilha da Magia.
It is on the main street of the neighborhood, João Pio Duarte Silva, that most of the local commerce is concentrated, and due to its proximity to these other neighborhoods, Córrego Grande ends up being well served, with many restaurants, bars, commercial buildings, gyms, pharmacies, soccer field, schools and various services.
Neighboring the main campus of the Federal University of Santa Catarina, UFSC, the region houses some units of the school, which makes it have a very active university life. Córrego Grande is one of those places that never stop, being an excellent option for young people and students.
One of the main attractions of the neighborhood are its green areas that provide spaces for leisure and sports. One is the Ecological Park with 22 hectares of green area, which is also known as Horto Florestal, as it houses the Municipal Garden and provides free native seedlings from the Atlantic Forest or vegetables to anyone who wants to plant. The other is the Parque Linear, along five kilometers, the park is a large corridor of green leisure area that borders the river that gives the neighborhood its name. The space has a playground for children, walking areas and a huge wooden walkway, with benches, trash cans and landscaping.
But the neighborhood also hides other natural beauties and adventures. Hidden in the middle of the Atlantic Forest is the Poção, a natural pool protected by law and which allows few visits at a time. There is also a trail that starts from the Santa Catarina Electric Power Station (Celesc) substation and goes to Canto da Lagoa.
Those who live in the region do not change the neighborhood for anything, since everything you need is in the region and can be done on foot or by bicycle.
