Itacorubi stands out for its privileged location, nature and entertainment. The neighborhood is ideal for those looking for easy access to the beaches and is only 10 km from the city center. It has privileged access to the SC401 road that connects the neighborhood to the beaches on the north of the island, such as Cachoeira do Bom Jesus, Canasvieiras, Ingleses and Jurerê. In the opposite direction, on the other side of the hill, is the center of Lagoa da Conceição, one of the best known tourist spots in Florianópolis and on the way to the beaches on the east of the island, such as Praia Mole, Praia da Joaquina and Praia da Lagoon Bar.
The neighborhood is residential and around it we find a good offer of shops and services. Both on its main avenue, Rodovia Ademar Gonzaga, and on Avenida Madre Benvenuta, which leads to the neighboring district and to one of the largest shopping centers in the city, Villa Romana. In addition, the region is among the gastronomic routes of Florianópolis, because of its wide variety of restaurants.
Itacorubi is also very popular with students, as it is home to the UDESC campus, Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina, a unit of Unisul, and the UFSC campus is also nearby, approximately 3.5 km from the region. With well-connected public transport, the neighborhood also has a safe bike path, much appreciated by young people.
The region is surrounded by an immense green area, composed of a mangrove that is among the largest in the world and the second largest in Brazil. Opened in 2016, the Jardim Botânico de Florianópolis is also located in the neighborhood. With 19 hectares, the space is ideal for slackline practice, walking, running, biking, playing beach tennis, playing with the children or just enjoying nature.
In recent years, modern developments have been launched and new ones are under construction, increasing the supply of high-end apartments.
